Private / Global Collaborations in Port Facilities & SEZs / Industrial Parks

The Government of Kerala, through Malabar International Port & SEZ Limited (MIPSL), is seeking approximately 30% of the cost as private investment in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the port. Global investors are being invited also to invest in port-dependent industries and businesses, logistics ventures including commodities (edible oils, refineries), coastal cement operations with grinding and bagging, fertilizer storage and bagging, and the supply of cargo‐handling equipment such as material handling cranes (MHCs), rubber‐tyred gantries (RTGs), and hoppers. Investment of around ₹2,000 crores is estimated for port-dependent and port-based SEZs and industrial parks. These investments will be in a mix of SEZs, Free Trade Warehousing Zones (FTWZs), warehouses, logistics and industrial parks to serve both EXIM & domestic cargo with particular focus on bolstering the Malabar region’s manufacturing sector. Investment is expected in businesses like rubber-based industries (including aviation tyres), green energy (hydrogen), electricals, electronics, automobiles, agriculture, textiles, engineering, packaging, pharmaceuticals, food processing and so on.
